Learn About Our Attorneys

Brian Weinstein

Founding attorney Brian Weinstein has been filing lawsuits for victims of asbestos-related diseases for the past 35 years. He has achieved an impressive number of significant asbestos verdicts, advantageous settlement amounts and favorable appellate results for victims throughout the country.

Brian pioneered the category of asbestos lawsuits filed on behalf of women who suffer from mesothelioma based on contact with their husbands' or parents' work clothes. Due to his work, Brian has been recognized as one of the Top 100 National Trial Lawyers and rated a Super Lawyer by Washington Law and Politics. He has also been rated AV* by Martindale-Hubble, the highest rating one can achieve from his peers.

After more than 20 years of working as an asbestos attorney, Brian was elected to the Washington State Senate in 2004. Brian continued his efforts to advocate for working families, focusing on consumer rights issues. After serving one four-year term with the State Senate, Brian returned to his law practice, where he continues to fight tirelessly for asbestos victims and others harmed by defective drugs and medical devices.

Brian has received many awards, which include the following:

  • 2008 Poverty Action Leadership Award
  • 2007 Humane Society of the U.S. state legislator of the year award
  • 2006 Outstanding Legislator, Children's Alliance
  • 2005 City of Renton Award; Washington Association of School Administrators Community Leadership Award

Benjamin Couture

Founding attorney Benjamin Couture graduated with honors from Southern Methodist University's Dedman School of Law and joined a leading national law firm in Texas. He rose quickly through the ranks and handled the firm's entire docket of mesothelioma cases in the Pacific Northwest.

Benjamin later relocated to the Northwest and joined a prominent law firm in Seattle that specialized in asbestos-related cases. His resourcefulness, fearlessness and passion were once again quickly recognized, and he was promptly elected to membership in the firm. Eager for new challenges, Ben co-founded Weinstein Couture PLLC in Seattle with longtime colleague Brian Weinstein.

Ben is devoted to providing high-quality representation to every client and his efforts have led to numerous six- and seven-figure settlements and recoveries. Over the years, Ben's efforts and advocacy have resulted in many millions of dollars in recoveries for his clients.

Ben recently testified against proposed bill HB 221.This bill would have made it harder for terminally ill Mesothelioma victims to get their day in court. Due to Ben's advocacy and explanation of how this bill would harm veterans and working people in Idaho, along with others opposed to the bill, the Committee killed the bill. This is a victory for veterans and working people of Idaho who have been exposed to asbestos because they can still get their day in court.
