Nursing Home Settles for $225,000 with Plaintiff for Asbestos Exposure

In Salinas, California, the Windsor Gardens facility agreed to a $225,000 settlement over claims that it did not properly handle asbestos during a renovation in 2012.

Instead of carrying out a full survey of the grounds, the facility and its contractor relied on an incomplete operations and maintenance report. As a result, they did not know that patients' rooms contained asbestos, which was emitted during the work.
